ইমানের সাতটি মূল বিষয় ইমান অর্থ বিশ্বাস। একজন মুসলিমকে ইমানের কতগুলাে মৌলিক বিষয়ে দৃঢ়ভাবে বিশ্বাস করতে হয় । এগুলাে আল- কুরআন ও হাদিস দ্বারা অকাট্যভাবে প্রমাণিত। এ বিষয়গুলােতে বিশ্বাস ব্যতীত কেউই মুমিন বা মুসলিম হতে পারে না। এরূপ বিষয় মােট ৭টি । এগুলাে হলাে
Iman means faith. A Muslim has got to believe in some fundamental issues. These are conclusively established by the Quranic and the hadith. One cannot become a Muslim without this set of beliefs. Such issues are seven. These are
১. আল্লাহ তায়ালার প্রতি বিশ্বাস। ইমানের সর্বপ্রথম ও সর্বপ্রধান বিষয় হলাে আল্লাহ তায়ালার প্রতি বিশ্বাস । আল্লাহ তায়ালা এক ও অদ্বিতীয়। তিনি ব্যতীত কোনাে ইলাহ বা মাবুদ নেই। তিনি সকল কিছুর সৃষ্টিকর্তা, পালনকর্তা ও রক্ষাকর্তা। তিনি সকল গুণের আধার। তার সত্তা ও গুণাবলি তুলনাহীন। সমস্ত প্রশংসা ও ইবাদত একমাত্র তারই জন্য নির্ধারিত। আল্লাহ তায়ালার প্রতি এরূপ বিশ্বাস স্থাপন ইমানের সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়।
1. Faith in Allah The first and the most vital issue of Iman is faith in Allah, the Most High. Allah is one and without a rival. There is no Ilah or Mabud (object of worship) except Him. He is the Creator, Nourisher and Sustainer of all and everything. He is the embodiment of all qualities. His Being and attributes are incomparable. All praise and worship (servitude) are due to Him alone. To repose such faith in Allah is the most important issue of faith.
২. ফেরেশতাগণের প্রতি বিশ্বাস ফেরেশতাগণ মহান আল্লাহর এক বিশেষ সৃষ্টি। তারা নুরের তৈরি। তারা সবসময় আল্লাহ তায়ালার ইবাদতও হুকুম পালনে নিয়ােজিত। তাদের সংখ্যা অগণিত। তারা নারীও নন, পুরুষও নন। তাঁরা পানাহার ও | জৈবিক চাহিদা থেকে মুক্ত। তাদের প্রতি এরূপ বিশ্বাস রাখা ইমানের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
2. Belief in the Angels The Angels are a unique creation of Allah the Most Exalted. They are created with light. They are engaged in worshipping Allah and carrying out His commands. They are innumerable. They are neither male nor female. They are free from needs unlike all other living beings. To have such faith in them is included in Iman.
৩. আসমানি কিতাবসমূহের প্রতি বিশ্বাস আসমানি কিতাবসমূহ আল্লাহ তায়ালার বাণী। এগুলাের মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ তায়ালা মানুষকে নিজ পরিচয় প্রদান করেছেন। নানা আদেশ-নিষেধ, বিধি-বিধান, সুসংবাদ, সতর্কবাণী ইত্যাদিও এগুলাের মাধ্যমেই এসেছে। আল্লাহ তায়ালা তাঁর রাসুলগণের নিকট এসব কিতাব পাঠিয়েছেন। দুনিয়াতে সর্বমােট ১০৪ খানা আসমানি কিতাব নাজিল করা হয়েছে। এ সমস্ত কিতাবের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করা আবশ্যক।
3. Belief in the Revealed Scriptures The revealed Scriptures are the words of Allah the Most High. He has revealed His own identity through these. Various commands and prohibitions, rules and regulations, good tidings, warnings, etc. have descended with them. Allah the Most High has sent these Books to His messengers. A total of 104 Revealed Books have been sent down on earth. It is essential to believe in all these Books.
৪. নবি-রাসুলগণের প্রতি বিশ্বাস মানব জাতির হিদায়াতের জন্য আল্লাহ তায়ালা যুগে যুগে বহু নবি-রাসুল প্রেরণ করেছেন। নবি-রাসুলগণ ছিলেন আল্লাহ তায়ালার মনােনীত বান্দা। সকল সৃষ্টির মধ্যে তারাই সর্বোচ্চ মর্যাদার অধিকারী। তারা ছিলেন নিস্পাপ। আল্লাহ তায়ালার নির্দেশে তারা মানব জাতিকে মহান আল্লাহর পথে ডেকেছেন, সত্য ও ন্যায়ের পথ দেখিয়েছেন, ইহ ও পরকালীন শান্তি ও মুক্তির দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করেছেন। নবি-রাসুলগণের প্রতি এরূপ বিশ্বাস রাখা ইমানের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়।
4. Belief in the Nabi-Rasul (Prophets and Messengers) Allah the Most High has sent many Prophets and Messengers in all ages to guide man to the path of good. They were the chosen servants of Allah the Most High. Among all creatures they possess the highest degree of honour. They were sinless. In obedience to divine command they called mankind to the right path of truth and justice and provided directions for peace and salvation both in this world and hereafter. Belief in the Prophets and Messengers is one of the important issues of faith (Iman).
৫. আখিরাতে বিশ্বাস আখিরাত হলাে পরকাল। আখিরাতের জীবন চিরস্থায়ী। এ জীবনের শুরু আছে কিন্তু শেষ নেই। সেখানে মানুষকে দুনিয়ার জীবনের সকল কাজকর্মের হিসাব দিতে হবে। কবর, হাশর, মিযান, সিরাত, জান্নাত, জাহান্নাম ইত্যাদি আখিরাত জীবনের এক একটি পর্যায় । দুনিয়াতে ভালাে কাজ করলে মানুষ জান্নাত লাভ করবে। আর ইমান না আনলে, অসৎ কাজ করলে মানুষের স্থান হবে ভীষণ আযাবের স্থান জাহান্নাম । আখিরাতের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করা অপরিহার্য।
5. Belief in Akhirat (life after death) Akhirat is the next life after death. The life of Akhirat is ever-lasting. It has a beginning but no end. In that life man will have to furnish an account of all his earthly deeds. The grave, the resurrection, the balance, the Bridge (path), the Heaven and the Hell, etc. are successive stages of the life after death. Those who do good deeds on earth will get paradise and those not having faith and doing evil deeds will find their place in the hell. It is essential to have faith in the hereafter.
৬. তকদিরে বিশ্বাস তকদির অর্থ হলাে নির্ধারিত পরিমাণ, ভাগ্য বা নিয়তি । আল্লাহ তায়ালা মানুষের তকদিরের নিয়ন্ত্রক। তিনিই তকদিরের ভালােমন্দ নির্ধারণকারী। মানুষ যা চায় তা-ই সে করতে পারবে না। বরং মানুষ শুধু তার কাজের জন্য চেষ্টা সাধনা করবে। অতঃপর ফলাফলের জন্য আল্লাহ তায়ালার উপর ভরসা করবে। যদি চেষ্টা করার পরও কোনাে কিছু না পায় তবে হতাশ হবে না। আর যদি পেয়ে যায় তবুও খুশিতে আত্মহারা হবে না। বরং সবর (ধৈর্য) ধারণ করবে ও শােকর (কৃতজ্ঞতা) আদায় করবে। আর তকদিরের ভালােমন্দ একমাত্র আল্লাহ তায়ালার হাতে, মনে প্রাণে এরূপ বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়।
6. Belief in Taqdir (Fate) Fate means a measured amount, destiny, etc. Allah the Most High is the regulator of human destiny. It is He Who determines good and evil of fate. Man cannot do all that he desires. Man can rather strive for his aims. After that he will not despair even if he does not get the return after striving. Again if he gains something, he shall not indulge in extreme joy. Rather he will adopt patience and express gratitude as the case may be. Allah the Most High disposes both good and bad. Such a belief is very important.
৭. মৃত্যুর পর পুনরুত্থানে বিশ্বাস মৃত্যুর সাথে সাথেই মানুষের জীবন শেষ হয়ে যায় না। বরং মানবজীবন দুইভাগে বিভক্ত। ইহকাল ও পরকাল। ইহকাল হলাে দুনিয়ার জীবন । আর পরকাল হলাে মৃত্যুর পরবর্তী জীবন । আল্লাহ তায়ালা মানুষকে মৃত্যুর পর আবার জীবিত করবেন। সে সময় সকল মানুষ হাশরের ময়দানে একত্রিত হবে। আল্লাহ তায়ালা সেদিন বিচারক হিসেবে মানুষের সকল কাজের হিসাব নেবেন। অতঃপর মানুষকে তার ভালাে কাজের জন্য পুরস্কার স্বরূপ জান্নাতে ও মন্দকাজের শাস্তিস্বরূপ জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ করানাে হবে। সুতরাং মৃত্যুর পর আমরা সবাই পুনরায় জীবিত হব এ বিশ্বাস রাখা ইমানের অপরিহার্য বিষয়।
7. Belief in Resurrection Human life does not terminate with death. Life rather consists of two parts, mundane life and the hereafter. The former is life on earth and the latter is life after death. Allah the Most High shall revive man after death. On that occasionall men will assemble on the field of resurrection. On that day Allah the Most High shall receive the accounts of all the activities of man. This being done man will be admitted into the paradise for good deeds and into the hell for bad deeds. So, it is an integral part of faith to believe that we shall again come to life after death.
